The Gallery: Artisenza Heritage

What we make, and why we make it.

Time and Craft Every piece in our collection starts the same way: with patience. A walnut tree grows for a century. A weaver in Oushak ties knots for months. We do not rush either of them.
Heritage, to us, is not a word on a tag. It is what happens when you respect the raw material and the hand that works it.
Every rug carries a Geographical Indication (GI) certificate—a state-protected provenance from the Uşak region, where Anatolian weaving has flourished since the 15th century. Every walnut slab is hand-selected by our founder from aged, salvaged timber and historic Anatolian woodlands, chosen exclusively for its internal grain density and structural maturity.
How We Work Our rugs are hand-knotted in Anatolia using ancient Ghiordes knots and natural root dyes—patterns you will recognize from Holbein and Lotto paintings, because those same designs have served as emblems of prestige for centuries.
Our walnut pieces start as single slabs. We keep the live edge. We infuse clear boutique resin only where the structural character demands it—to hold, not to hide. The result is not cosmetic perfection. It is absolute honesty.
What We Believe We are an independent, boutique studio. We do not mass-produce. Every piece is built by hand, finished by hand, and hand-signed by the master craftsman before it leaves our Ankara workshop. A certified document of authenticity and origin accompanies every custom commission.
We operate an uncompromised direct house-to-estate model. By maintaining absolute control from the workbench directly to your space, we ensure the purity of the provenance remains uninterrupted.
Who I Am My name is Murat Erdem. I have been doing this for 30 years—first with wood, then with rugs, always with my hands.
Artisenza is not a brand built in a corporate boardroom. It is the raw result of three decades at the workbench and the loom. I still choose every walnut slab. I still inspect every rug before it ships.
When you commission a piece from us, you are not simply
acquiring a unique piece. You are bringing home something I would be proud to keep in my own house. That is the only standard I care about.
