THE CROWN OF THE WOODS — THE ART PIECE

The Philosophy

In Celtic mythology, Cernunnos is the master of the life cycle and untamed wisdom. His antlers fall every winter and return every spring, larger than before — not as a sign of loss, but of transformation.

The tree within this work lived through more than a century in Anatolia. It stood while generations passed beneath it, holding the soil of other eras, other hands, and other silences. Our master craftsman did not merely carve it; he listened to it. From within its grain, he drew out the figure that had always been waiting there.

The Crown of the Woods is not decoration. It is a century of memory carved into form. The antlers fall. They return. The rings of this walnut did the same, year after year, in silence. Both know the same truth: Time is not loss.

The Craft & Material

This work sits at the intersection of natural history and absolute human patience — and that intersection is rare. The intricate details, anatomical depth, and lifelike textures require one full month of meticulous, uninterrupted hand-carving by a single master craftsman in our Ankara atelier.

The surface is treated exclusively with natural oils, avoiding any synthetic varnishes to preserve the raw, tactile breath of the ancient timber.
