A 16th-century design. Woven today. For your floor.
The Medallion Oushak emerged from 16th-century Anatolia – not as a passing trend, but as a lasting language of geometry and color. At its center sits a medallion. At the corners, quarter-medallions. The field around it is filled with botanical shapes, small silhouettes, and repeating patterns inspired by the miniature painters of the Ottoman court.
These designs did not stay in Anatolia. They traveled to Europe, where Renaissance painters – Holbein, Lotto, and others – placed them inside portraits of nobility. For centuries, these rugs have signaled one thing: prestige.
Today, we bring them back. Not as museum pieces. As functional art for your floor.
This rug carries the Geographical Indication (GI) certificate – a state-protected guarantee that it was woven in Uşak using traditional methods passed down through generations.
