A late-period layout. The rhythm of crimson and indigo leaves. Woven today for your floor.
The Foliate Oushak (Yapraklı Uşak) is defined by its fluid, repeating botanical patterns. Moving away from rigid geometric grids, this design utilizes stylized leaf and vine contours that flow rhythmically across the field. It represents a mature, decorative elegance within the Uşak weaving tradition, balanced by a deep contrast of crimson and indigo.
These fluid botanical layouts quickly became an established language of prestige across Europe. Renaissance painters featured Uşak compositions in portraits of royalty, turning these textiles into global symbols of high status inside grand estates, chateaus, and cathedrals. Today, we bring this calm authority back. Not as a museum piece. As functional art for your floor.
This rug carries the Geographical Indication (GI) certificate – a state-protected guarantee that it was woven in Uşak using traditional methods passed down through generations.
