An open field layout. The art of serpiştirme motifs. Woven today for your floor.
The Scattered Oushak (Serpme Uşak) is celebrated for its unhurried, spacious composition. Unlike dense architectural grids, this traditional design lets small, independent floral and geometric motifs wander freely across an open foundation. It is a masterful use of negative space, allowing the individual stories of the weaver to breathe.
Evolving through the Ottoman Golden Age into a global symbol of prestige, these fluid, scattered layouts became highly sought after by European nobility. Renaissance painters featured them in their oil portraits, cementing the Oushak rug as an elite mark of status on floors, tables, and walls alike. Today, we bring this open, calm elegance back. Not as a museum piece. As functional art for your floor.
This rug carries the Geographical Indication (GI) certificate – a state-protected guarantee that it was woven in Uşak using traditional methods passed down through generations.
