THE NARRATIVE
──────────────────────────────────────────────

In 1495, Leonardo da Vinci began a conversation in Milan — thirteen figures around a table, suspended at the exact moment where doubt and surrender meet. In 2026, Artisenza continues that conversation in the grain of solid Anatolian walnut.

This relief draws from two sources at once. The first is the Renaissance composition itself: the geometry of the room, the way thirteen bodies press against a single moment, the drama held not in faces but in hands. The second is Surah Al-Ma'idah, where the disciples ask for a heavenly table — not out of hunger, but so that their hearts may find certainty. The Tafsir is precise: it was a question about doubt, not about food.

Christianity, Islam, and Judaism have each sat with this table for centuries. None of them has fully answered what was asked at it. That unanswered question is what our craftsmen carved into the wood.

Every tension of a hand, every angle of a shoulder, every gaze that has not yet decided — each was worked by hand, slowly, from a single-source timber selected for the depth of its grain. No two pieces come out of this process alike. The walnut itself has a say in what emerges.

This is not devotional art. It is not décor. It is a question that has outlasted every answer given to it, now held in a material that will outlast the room it hangs in.

Curated for private collections and significant architectural spaces.
