Product Description

A 17th-century layout. The geometry of the eight-pointed star. Woven today for your floor.

The Story

The Starry Oushak (Yıldızlı Uşak) reached its artistic zenith in the 17th century, defined by a structured grid of bold, eight-pointed stars alternating with secondary diamond motifs. In the traditional design vocabulary of Anatolia, this layout represents balance and cosmic order, detailed internally with stylized palm leaves and classical Rumi contours.

These geometric star compositions quickly became a global language of prestige. Captured on canvas by Renaissance painters, they were sought after by European nobility to anchor the floors, tables, and walls of grand estates. Today, we bring this established heritage back. Not as a museum piece. As functional art for your floor.

Certified Heritage

This rug carries the Geographical Indication (GI) certificate – a state-protected guarantee that it was woven in Uşak using traditional methods passed down through generations.

Artisenza is an official purveyor of these registered pieces. When you buy one, you receive a legally verified work of art with global recognition.

Material & Craftsmanship

  • Origin: Hand-woven in Anatolia – a tradition dating back to the Lydian and Phrygian eras.

  • Material: 100% hand-spun wool for the weft, warp, and pile.

  • Dyes: 100% natural root dyes – madder, weld, walnut husk, indigo. No synthetics.

  • Knot: Authentic Turkish (Ghiordes) knot.

  • Density: Approximately 89,600 knots per square meter.

Two Options

  • Pure wool: Deep, heritage texture.

  • Silk highlights: Subtle, luminous contrast – the motifs catch the light.

Time & Patience

Our weavers complete about two square meters per month. This rug cannot be rushed. If you commission one, it will take time. We do not keep large stock – we weave for you.

International Delivery (DDP)

All customs, duties, and shipping costs are prepaid by our house. The price you see is final. Delivery is via premium express shipping – 5 to 7 business days after completion.

Note: Due to hand-weaving, dimensions may vary slightly. That is not a flaw. That is the signature of the hand.
